English Blog Post #1 biographical sketch
Hi, my name is Kilinaheokalani Neuman or just Kili for short. I was born and raised on the island of O'ahu, Hawai'i. I recently moved to Utah to pursue my further education here at SUU. Having just turned 18, I'm still trying to get the hang of living on my own and being independent. I just recently got a job on top of school so that's fun. My family still lives in Hawai'i, and I have three younger siblings, which makes me the oldest of four. One of my favorite hobbies is baking/cooking. I just find making something and then getting to enjoy it afterward is so therapeutic and helps when I have a lot on my mind or am stressed out. As you can imagine in college I have been cooking and baking a lot then by that logic!
This is a blog called "Simply Recipes" where they post recipe inspo to get your creative cooking skills flowing - https://www.simplyrecipes.com/
a) Who do you believe is the intended audience of this blog and why?
I think the intended audience of this blog is anyone like me who is looking for new food recipes to try because they love cooking or baking. Why? Because it is always fun to try a new recipe!
b) How does the author of the blog appeal to his or her readers?
This blog is a lot more professional, it feels like a larger website rather than a small cooking blog. However, it may be overwhelming to some, because of the wide variety of recipes they have to offer. I look for new things to cook from this website and the few things I have made were pretty good. It's just fun to look at to find inspiration for what you want to eat.
c) What are your thoughts and feelings about blogging on this subject/hobby/interest? Explain and discuss.
I think blogging about food, cooking, and recipes is quite common out of most other blogging subjects. Cooking is just something that isn't controversial and is open for lots of people because everyone eats food!
Next, post a couple of links to interesting information you discover that's linked to the blog, and briefly discuss how this blog has impacted your knowledge and awareness of the hobby/interest/subject that you're researching.

This is a link to the "about us" section of the "simply recipes" blog. This goes on to say that the blog started off small, and became huge over the years. Their recipes are primarily fresh because of the history behind the creator getting sick with the flu and how her eating helped her get through it.

This is another link in the tips and tricks tab about how you don't nessicarily have to temper your eggs. Tempering eggs can be tricky but this shows you the secret. This was just interesting to me even though I don't find myself tempering eggs quite often!
1) How did you get started with this hobby/interest?
I enjoyed helping my mom bake things when I was little, and my family just has a lot of passed-down recipes. Given that a lot of people in my family also love cooking and baking, it made me want to learn too and so my love for this came naturally.
2) Why is this hobby/interest important to you?
This hobby is important to me because I am always trying to eat healthily, so cooking your own food and following a recipe is a good way of knowing what goes into your food, which is always good.
3) Anything else you want to say about this hobby/interest?
I know a lot of people may think that they "can't cook" but trust me! It's not as bad as you may think it is!
