Thriller Michael Jackson

Right off the bat, this song reminds me of Halloween.  I mean who wouldn't think of Halloween when they hear this song?  The best part of the song is the guy evil laughing at the end, and no one can tell me otherwise.  After listening to this song critically three times, I noticed that it also gives off a ghost busters vibe.  I have heard this song at least three times during the month of October every year.  It's really funny how this song was released in the 1980's and is still going strong even today.  I think what makes the song even catchier is the way that Michael Jackson sings.  He also adds different noises like "hee hee".    I think that this song has the vibe of dancing and wearing Halloween costumes.  I don't think this song could represent anything better.  The part that doesn't match me is that I wouldn't l;listen to this song outside of Halloween time.  It doesn't match my normal music taste.  The sound of it...

Rapper's Delight - The Sugarhill Gang

This song reminds me of old school songs.  It makes me want to dance, it would be a really fun to dance to dance silly with friends.  Some of the lyrics seem kind of random but if you listen to what they are saying, it tells a story with each verse.  Since the song is so long, it is so diverse.  The lyric "Hip hop we don't stop" is significant because of how long the rapping goes for.  It is like the friends are taking turns free styling to the beat.  It makes the song feel very carefree and not to be taken too seriously.  The beat is pretty consistent but the lyrics and singers are constantly switching.  There are also a lot of filler words like repeating "on and an on an on", "hip hop hippty hop you don't stop", or "bang bang the boogie".  I think what makes this song so danceable is when the beat repeats and the people in the song tell you to dance to the beat.  It reminds me of cupid shuffle, or fresh prince of bel air, it is a...

I Shot The Sheriff - Eric Clapton

This song is very interesting to me in the way that it differs from the "I Shot The Sheriff" Song by Bob Marley.  I am very familiar with this song but by Bob Marley because we listen to a lot of reggae music back in Hawaii (Where I'm From).   A lot of people know about Bob Marley on the mainland but I grew up listening to reggae because my family raised us on reggae.  Anyway, this song is a lot lower in pitch and slower in tempo, I believe.  When listening to Eric's version and then knowing Bob's version, these are the two major differences that stood out to me.  I would also say that Bob Marley's "I Shot The Sheriff" version is a lot more intense and passionate when it comes to the tone of singing.  Eric Clapton's version of the song sounds a lot more laid back and less passionate when listening to the tone of singing.  Now knowing the two different versions of this song, I don't know if I'm biased but I still like Bob Marley's ver...
