Here You Come Again Dolly Parton

Image
The way this song sounds is really interesting to me.  The instruments used in this song are not traditional country song instruments.  Which then gives this song such an interesting sound to it.  I do think the sound is unique, but the instruments do go well together in this song.  So I feel like this song does break out of the norms a little bit.  This does surprise me a bit because I wasn't expecting it.  Dolly Parton's singing in the song does have a country twang sound to it.  My favorite part of the song is when she sings "And Here I Go" and then the instrumental part follows it.  Like I said in one of my other blog posts, this song's instrumental part does sound like the instruments are singing the words of the song.  This is my favorite part because it encourages the singer to sing the lyrics of the song even when the singer isn't singing them.  It also makes the song a lot catchier.  The story of the song seems to be ...

Be My Baby - The Ronettes

The song "Be My Baby" has such an upbeat sound and a chorus that I couldn't help to sing along to.  My favorite part of the song is the beginning when the instruments slowly get incorporated into the song, and then finally the voice starts singing the lyrics and it just comes together so perfectly and has such a natural sound to it.  Even though there are so many instruments in this song, they all still play very well together.  Nothing about this song is simple sounding.  There are so many sounds in this song that it is so much more than catchy lyrics.  Having listened to this song multiple times, I found myself trying to listen to the rhythm of a different instrument each time.  Even though the Ronettes repeat "Be My Baby" multiple times, there is still a story being told in the lyrics.  "I'll make you happy baby, just you wait and see".  This is just a happy song about falling for someone and being in love.  The way the singer drags ...

Sh-Boom The Chords

The Song Sh-Boom is a very happy, sounding, dance song.  Obviously, it makes everyone think of the movie Cars.  I think this does sound like a song that would be featured in many movies because it has!  Not only was this song in Pixar's Cars, but Disney California Adventure incorporated the song into the neon light ceremony in the new Cars Land.  Some other places you may have heard the song was in the TV series Happy Days, in the film Clue,  The original version of The Chords' recording was featured in a scene in Dolphin Tale and also briefly featured in a Nexgard Chewables Dog Commercial.  So there is not a chance that you have never heard this song before!  One way or another, you have heard this song on a Tv show, movie, or commercial.   This song has a very kid-friendly, playful tone to it, it sounds very youthful to me.  In the song, there are lots of sounded out sounds like "Sh-Boom" obviously but also "Hey, nonny, ding, don...

Hey, Good Lookin' Hank Williams

Image
This song makes me think of montage music in a movie or something while they show the characters going through life and as they are growing up.  My favorite part of this song is the instrumentals right in the beginning, they remind me of the sound in old Hawaiian music.  Like other songs I've blogged about, there is the part in the song where the instrumentals sound like they are singing the lyrics.  In the middle when there is no singing, the instruments sound like they are singing "hey good lookin' what you got cookin'".   This song gives off a really happy vibe but is also slow-paced.  It is not very fast-paced, but it still gives off a happy feeling, it doesn't feel sad at all.  I think it's interesting how the singing style is being delivered in this song, it matches up with the pace of the song how he drags out words like "hey" in "Hey, Good Lookin'".  If Hank didn't do this, the singing wouldn't match up with the bac...

Taking a Chance on Love

Image
This song starts off by having almost a minute of instrumental before the singer starts singing.  The instrumental part really interacts with the lyrics because the instruments sound like they are singing the part where it says "Taking a Chance on Love".  So, after the initial instrumental part, in the beginning, the lyrical singing comes in and it makes sense because of the tone that was already set.  I feel like this is a song someone would be singing about their crush in a field of flowers.  So this also gives off a  very hopeful tone because they are singing about taking a chance on love.  That person is hoping that the chance they are taking is going to pay off.  There is also a sound in here from one of the instruments that give me a Christmas song vibe.  There's an instrument that I hear in this song (I'm not sure which one) but it sounds like the same instrument from "Santa Claus is coming to town".   I also love Ch...
