St. Louis Blues

St. Louis Blues  The song "St. Louis Blues" is sung by Bessie Smith with Louis Armstrong.  I knew about Louis Armstrong before I knew about Louis Armstrong.  His song "What a Wonderful World" was in Toy Story and I didn't know it was him singing.   This song is very slow and has a blues feel to it.  It isn't upbeat or danceable, or if anything it would be a slow dance.  I feel like the target audience would be older people.  I feel like older people listen to slower songs, and younger people like faster pace, more upbeat song type.   I thought that Louis Armstrong's voice would appear in this song, but it doesn't.  Instead, the music in the background gives the song a sad feeling.  It makes me think of a grumpy old man.  The way the sad music and the tone of voice being used in the song interact with each other well because the two matches.  The sad tone of voice and the sad tone of music go together well to giv...

After the ball
